Watauga Baptist Church was founded in 1886 and is located in Franklin, NC the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. We are a bible believing, family oriented church. We might not be the largest church in Macon County but our love for others has no limits. Our Mission is to minister the Gospel and to preach exactly what the Bible says; not our opinion.

Childrens Ministry Leadership

Julie Cochran, Pam Roper, Teresa Martin

My name is Julie Cochran and I was blessed to be raised by two wonderful parents, who chose to take me to church and instill in me, the importance of honoring Christ with my life.  I met my husband, Jamie, when I was 17 years old.  In 2003, a month before I turned 19, Jaime and I got married.  Just as we had become a family, it was equally important to us that we share the same church family.  I soon joined Watauga Baptist Church, where we could grow and connect with others seeking Christ.  In July of 2006, we were blessed with a daughter, McKinleigh and in 2011; our blessings were doubled as we were gifted with a son, Elias. I am thankful for and enjoy working with the children at Watauga.  We talk about everyday issues that they face at home and school.  We teach the importance of praying and demonstrating God’s love through our actions and how we treat others.  I consider myself blessed to be in a position where I can watch the children grow and learn about the God that loves them.

My name is Pam Roper. I am a native to Franklin and have attended Watauga Baptist Church all my life. My husband, George, and I were married here over 20 years ago. My teenage boys, Jackson and Camron, are very involved with our youth group and I help teach the younger youth classes that my daughter, Callie, participates in.

My name is Teresa Martin and like Pam, I too have grown up in Watauga Baptist Church. I have been attending church here for 20+years and I was married to my wonderful husband Dennis Martin on January 29, 1981 together we have one son Tyler who is eight years old and one grown daughter. I have been devoted to helping with the children for the past 20+ years. I enjoy working with the little ones from ages birth up to fifth graders. It is very fufilling as is being a foster parent to a lot of little souls just waiting to be molded for the Lord.
